    WSPs baseline surveys in Fiji and Solomon Islands - December 2021

    In 2021 WSP made significant progress in conducting baseline national prevalence surveys, using population-based cluster-randomised methodology. In both countries, teams found scabies and other skin conditions to be problematic for many communities reinforcing the need for skin NTD programs in these Pacific Islands. Analysis of data is underway, and results will be available in early 2022.

    A new policy paper titled A Framework for Scabies Control is now available in PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases. In this paper the authors outline recommendations from the WHO Informal Consultation for a Framework for Scabies Control and discusses the approach in the context of the WHO Roadmap for NTDs 2021-2030.
